Thanks for checking out Press – Potential in Motion. I hope some of the insights here will help you reach your potential as an individual while celebrating the epic fails along the way. This is definitely not the place to take things too seriously and, really, life is way too short to miss an opportunity to laugh.
There are four things (that we have varying degrees of control over) that influence potential. Our physical and mental health, education, thoughts, and communications contribute to potential. Once we assess our current state in each of these broad categories, we can make changes that help us reach our goals.
So, why Press? Because ‘press’ is what we do after we research a problem, chat with friends and mentors, and come up with a great plan of attack. We press forward with this plan and put our potential in motion. Some of us get stuck in the ‘chat’ or ‘plan’ phase and never understand why things aren’t getting better. We can change the status quo. It’s time to gain some traction and put our potential in motion. So … press.
Amy Beall has been a rolling stone for most of her life. She has lived in Texas, the south, and on the west coast of the United States as well as Japan and Hawaii. She does things in unconventional ways … all the time. She raised children before she completed her BS in Accounting and MBA. Amy spent 12 years working in a gym and then shifted to accounting for the past 10 years. She started teaching graduate classes in accounting in 2015. All of that moving and changing careers has given her a deep appreciation for diversity, grit, and personal potential.
Amy tries (desperately) to be professional but her sarcasm and inappropriate comments break through on a regular basis. She continues to ‘fake it until she makes it’. She makes herself feel better by saying she is ‘learning’ instead of beating herself up for ‘failing’.
